How Does it Work?
Patient attends doctor’s appointment.
Doctor completes clinical details on preferred practice software and selects ‘Marina Radiology’ as the provider in the drop down menu.
A text message containing the patient’s e-referral is automatically sent to their phone (password protected).
Marina Radiology electronically receives the e-referral.
The patient is contacted within an hour and an appointment is arranged. Patient preparation and instructions for the test provided to the patient.
Patient has their radiology scan.
How Does Direct e-Referrals Benefit the Referring Doctor and Their Clinic?
There are no extra steps involved when creating the Direct e-Referral, the process of creating a referral on the Medical software is still exactly the same as creating a hardcopy.
A hard copy referral is still generated for the patient.
Doctors and staff will not have to generate misplaced or lost referrals.
Doctors and staff will not be responsible for booking patient appointments.
Doctors still have freedom of choice of provider as per Medicare guidelines
